It features works that have won the Taiyo Award and the Kimura Ihei Photography Award. Along with Contribution texts by Ken Oyama and Hiromi Tsuchida. The book “TOKYO EAST WAVES” features three series by Mitsugu Onishi (1952–), a recipient of the Kimura Ihei Photography Award. These series were captured from the late 1980s to the early 1990s, showcasing the eastern regions of Tokyo and its surrounding neighborhoods. The first series, " Town at Estuary / Koukou no Machi Koto Zero Meter Area 84" (1985), which won the 22nd Taiyo Prize, captures the area around the Arakawa and Nakagawa River mouths. The second series, "New Around the Edges of Tokyo", expands to suburban areas such as the northwest of Chiba Prefecture and the southern parts of Saitama, which won the 18th Kimura Ihei Photography Award.
